2026 SEASONAL VACANCIES AT BLACKPOOL ZOO

At Blackpool Zoo, we aim to ensure that all of our visitors experience a fantastic day out. It’s not just about the amazing animals, each member of our team plays a part in making this happen.

For the following vacancies we are seeking confident, enthusiastic, flexible, and motivated staff aged 16 or over. Experience isn’t necessary, but a SMILE is a must!

Catering

We are seeking energetic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Seasonal Catering Assistants. As a catering assistant, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our visitors in one of our many outlets across the Zoo. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a dynamic environment, have a passion for customer service, and thrive in a team-orientated setting.

Playbarn

Our smaller visitors just love the Blackpool Zoo Playbarn – with its colourful, multilevel frame, it’s the perfect place for little monkeys to run wild. As a Playbarn assistant, you'll be the chief architect of smiles and laughter in our specially designed playbarn. Your mission is to create a safe, engaging, and joyful environment for children to explore, play, and learn. Get ready to be the maestro of playtime fun! Duties include monitoring the welfare and safety of children within the play barn, reception work, cleaning and catering – all whilst providing excellent customer service to visitors of all ages.

Activities

There’s fun to be found in every corner of the zoo – from face-painting to selling balloons and manning the bouncy castle. This role will see you out and about in the zoo interacting with our visitors and selling your goods or services. This position would require the candidate to be physically fit and have a mature attitude.

Visitor Services

Our Visitor Services team is the face of Blackpool Zoo, helping visitors have a safe and enjoyable day out. You could be working at admissions, answering visitor queries, directing in the car park, or helping to keep the park clean and presentable.

You should be a strong communicator who is polite, helpful and confident. It may be necessary to walk distances around the zoo and you should be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Retail

Being a zookeeper can be messy… but looking after our army of cuddly plush animals is easy – they don’t need feeding and there’s no animal poo to shovel! Working in one of our two gift shops, you will find yourself stocking shelves, taking in deliveries and assisting customers find the perfect souvenir.

We are looking to fill a number of vacancies. All jobs are seasonal, occasionally weather-dependent, with full and part-time hours available.

We’ll provide full training and uniforms, and we pay up to the living wage (dependent on age). We also offer a whole host of benefits, including complimentary zoo tickets, discounts and free parking… Oh, and you’ll be working in an award-winning zoo!
