2024 SEASONAL VACANCIES AT BLACKPOOL ZOO

At Blackpool Zoo, we aim to ensure that all of our visitors experience a fantastic day out. It’s not just about the amazing animals, each member of our team plays a part in making this happen.

For the following vacancies we are seeking confident, enthusiastic, flexible, and motivated staff aged 16 or over. Experience isn’t necessary, but a SMILE is a must!

Catering Assistants

We are seeking energetic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Seasonal Catering Assistants. As a Catering Assistant, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our visitors in one of our many outlets across the Zoo. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a dynamic environment, have a passion for customer service, and thrive in a team-oriented setting.

Playbarn

Our smaller visitors just love the Blackpool Zoo Playbarn - with its colourful, multilevel frame, it’s the perfect place for little monkeys to run wild. As a Playbarn Host, you'll be the chief architect of smiles and laughter in our specially designed playbarn. Your mission is to create a safe, engaging, and joyful environment for children to explore, play, and learn. Get ready to be the maestro of playtime fun! Duties include monitoring the welfare and safety of children within the play barn, reception work, cleaning and catering - all whilst providing excellent customer service to visitors of all ages.

Party Host

There ain't no party like a wild zoo party!! As a Party Host at Blackpool Zoo, you'll be responsible for turning children’s birthdays into roaring successes and events into memorable occasions. Are you a pro at Party Games? Can you sing Happy Birthday like no other? If you've got what it takes to get even the wildest of parties started - this is the job for you! Applicants must be bubbly, outgoing and enthusiastic.

Activities

There’s fun to be found in every corner of the zoo – from face-painting by the big cats to selling balloons and manning the bouncy castle. This role will see you out and about in the zoo interacting with our visitors, and selling your goods or services. If you think you could transform a toddler into a tiger or giggly golfer into the next tiger woods… this is the job for you. This position would require the candidate to be physically fit and have a mature attitude.

Train Driver

All aboard!! Our miniature train needs a driver! Could you take to the tracks and guide visitors on a mini safari? As a Train Driver, you'll be the conductor of joy, navigating our colourful train through the zoo's magical landscapes. Your mission? To transport young adventurers on an exciting journey filled with laughter, discovery, and wildlife wonders. Get ready to be the captain of smiles! Duties include driving the train, basic train maintenance and interaction with visitors. This position would require the candidate to be physically fit, flexible in regards to working hours and have a mature attitude.

 

We are looking to fill a number of vacancies, with positions available now. All jobs are seasonal, occasionally weather dependent, with full and part-time hours available.

We’ll provide full training and uniforms, and we pay up to the living wage (dependent on age). We also offer a whole host of benefits, including complimentary zoo tickets, discounts and free parking… Oh, and you’ll be working in an award-winning zoo!!
