Zoo Sustainability
Sustainability is one of our five organisational values, and we are working hard to drive sustainable practice forward across our zoo. We are constantly striving to implement new initiatives, and we see our work in this area as being vital to protecting the natural world and encouraging others to do the same.
Our sustainability action plan has seven key areas of focus:
- Recycling and reusing
- Communication (visitors and staff)
- Reducing energy consumption
- Reducing water use
- Reducing paper use
- Sustainable procurement and policies
- Sustainable land use/native species.
We want to encourage others to "think and act green" by setting an example ourselves.
