We’ve recently released the dates for our 2015 Keeper School courses. With three different levels, suitable for ages 8-17, these courses provide experience with zoo animals including reptiles, primates, large mammals and elephants. Our Keeper School courses provide the perfect first steps for anyone looking for a career working with animals.

We were delighted on the 11th June this year to welcome a pair of critically endangered Amur tiger cubs.  Barney and Radzi, named after the Blue Peter presenters, were the first tiger cubs to be born at the zoo in over 17 years. Blackpool Zoo is Open!

As part of Step 2 of the national roadmap out of lockdown we are allowed to open once again.

However, we will not be allowed to open most indoor areas: the indoor eating area of the cafe is closed, as are the indoor viewing area of animal houses including elephants, big cats, giraffes, small primates, gorillas and orangutans. These animals all have access to their outdoor enclosures, however they may take themselves inside during inclement weather.  Lemur Wood and Rainbow Landings remain closed.

A full list of restrictions and measures in place can be found here.  Please ensure you read them before you book your tickets as they are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.

We really look forward to welcoming you back to Blackpool Zoo.
