About the role
Blackpool Zoo Education is a vibrant, exciting and energetic department focused on ensuring positive visitor experiences are accompanied with lasting learning interactions and memorable conservation messages. At the core of the department is a team of dedicated, dynamic and charismatic Education Officers who creatively collaborate to host multi-dimensional programmes for visitors of all ages and demographics.

Responsibilities
Core responsibility – To be a dedicated, dynamic and conscientious member of the education team.
- Deliver core aspects of the education programmes, including workshops, tours, lessons, learning programmes, public talks, and animal experiences
- Work alongside other members of the team to plan and assist with a diverse range of projects.
- Work independently to host and evaluate a number of educational activities
- Deliver the zoo’s public talks and display programme, with particular emphasis on educa-tional and conservation content
- To assist in monitoring the public walkthrough enclosures
- To take part in any educational and conservation activities held at the zoo, including fundrais-ing campaigns
- Deliver a high standard of customer service
- Enhance visitor experience
- Deal with a different visitor enquiries both in the park and the office
- Assist in research projects run by or in partnership with the education department
- Assist the marketing department with events and new social media content
- Ensure and encourage the highest level of safety for visitors and staff
Special requirements
Able to work 5 days out of 7, including weekends and bank holidays. Flexibility, especially with school holidays.
