We're on a nation wide search to bring to life the incredible story of a young zoo keeper who was sent to India in 1969 to collect two baby elephants, who would become among the zoo’s first and most popular residents.
This year we’ve got a plan … we’re going to cycle around the world, without ever leaving Blackpool
Introducing Project Elephant - Opening early 2018
Our very own Education Academy has been hailed top class after picking up an award at the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA) 50th Anniversary ceremony.
As part of Step 2 of the national roadmap out of lockdown we are allowed to open once again.
However, we will not be allowed to open most indoor areas: the indoor eating area of the cafe is closed, as are the indoor viewing area of animal houses including elephants, big cats, giraffes, small primates, gorillas and orangutans. These animals all have access to their outdoor enclosures, however they may take themselves inside during inclement weather. Lemur Wood and Rainbow Landings remain closed.
A full list of restrictions and measures in place can be found here. Please ensure you read them before you book your tickets as they are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
We really look forward to welcoming you back to Blackpool Zoo.
