Parking

Do you charge for car parking?            
Yes, it's £3.00 for the full day, payable by cash at the machine.  You can purchase by card at the Visitor Services Hub or retail shop in the main entrance.

Do you have parking for disabled visitors?   
Yes. These spaces are also charged at £3.00.

 

Admissions

Can I buy tickets online?        
All visitors, including members, must book tickets online to guarantee entry.  This is due to having limited daily visitor numbers each day that must not be exceeded.

Do I need to print my tickets?    
Having printed tickets does make things slightly quicker, but it's not essential, you can just show us on your phone or device, or you can download them into our brand new App. 

Do you charge for disabled visitors and carers?     
Yes, we do. However, the rate combined is the cost of an adult ticket.

What proof of disability do I need on arrival?
DLA / PIP Letter, Disabled Persons Bus Pass, Access Card, DID Card, Blue/Orange badge or a medical letter confirming disability.

Can I go back to the car for my picnic?          
Of course you can. Just keep hold of your receipt and show that, or ask a member of the team to stamp your hand.

Do you take Tesco “Days Out Vouchers” or Blue Peter Badges?         
We accept Tesco Clubcard Days Out Voucher codes against full paying adult tickets, senior, child, disabled adult, disabled child and carer tickets.  You just need to book a 'Pre-Paid Ticket' online for each person in your group at £0 cost for the date you'd like to visit (this is the last option on the ticket booking page). Then bring your online confirmation along with your Tesco Clubcard Voucher on the day of your visit and payment will be taken on arrival. If the vouchers are for part payment, you can pay the balance with card or cash.  Our prices do vary, so it's best to check a few days before your visit the correct price.
Blue Peter badges (with a valid ID card) allow free entry for the holder with a full-paying adult only.  They must also book a pre-paid ticket to guarantee entry.
You can not combine the use of Tesco Clubcard Vouchers and Blue Peter Badge holders - two promotions can't be used together.
 

Do you offer discount to NHS staff, the Armed forces or local residents? 
We don’t offer discounts other than to residents of FY1 – FY5 postcode areas as they are Blackpool Borough Council tax payers.  Individual tickets must be purchased online using the first 3 digits of your postcode in capitals and you must bring proof of your address with your online tickets, otherwise you will be charged the difference.

Where can we find discount codes for the zoo?      
The simple answer is “You can’t.”  We don't use discount codes.

Can we bring the dog?    
No, sorry, you can’t due to our animal health policies. Assistance dogs maybe be able to be cared for by the office staff, please check in advance on 01253 830801. A local kennels offers doggy day-care – please telephone 01253 762929.

 

Catering

Can I bring a picnic?        
Yes, you can – we have picnic benches around the park. You can leave your picnic in the car and pop back for it, too. Just get your hand stamped on your way out. Do beware of the seagulls, though, as they’re very partial to a sandwich.

Is there any where indoors to eat our picnic?
Due to current government guidelines, there are no indoor areas to eat picnics.

Do you cater for special dietary requirements?        
We do our best. Please speak to a member of staff and discuss your meal – they will then offer you options.

 

Facilities

Do you have facilities for disabled visitors in the zoo?      
Yes, we do. There is a disabled toilet in every block – 4 in total. There is also a room with a bed for more personal use in the main entrance hall.

Do you hire out wheelchairs, mobility scooters or pushchairs?             
We have wheelchairs available from our Visitor Services Hub. There is no charge for a wheelchair, however we do ask for £10 refundable deposit and pre-booking in essential at this time by emailing info@blackpoolzoo.org.uk stating your name, date of visit and approximate time of arrival,or by calling 01253 860801. Mobility scooters can be hired from a local company – please ring 01253 405457 to make arrangements.  We aren't hiring out pushchairs at this time.

Do you have lockers for personal property / picnics?        
No, but you are welcome to go back to your vehicle at any time.

Do you have a Lost Property department?   
Our Visitor Services team keep a log of lost and found property, so please contact them on 01253 830801 with details.

Do you have a cash machine?              
Yes we do, in the main entrance, there is an admin charge of £1.80 per cash withdrawal.

Do you have a first aid room / first aiders?               
Yes, we do. However, due to the current pandemic we will only be dealing with serious injuries.  However, we can supply a plaster and a wipe if required.

 

Animal Experiences

 

How do I buy / book an Animal Experience?
Sales are currently suspended.  We will be contacting everyone who has purchased a voucher to let them know when the bookings calendar is open again.

 

School & Group Bookings
 

I'd like to book a group in for an educational visit, who do I contact?             
Bookings are currently suspended until at least September 2021.  

 

General Enquiries

 

Is smoking allowed in the zoo?             
At present, we do allow smoking in outdoor areas, but would ask you to please be considerate of our other visitors. 

Can you send me some tickets for my raffle?           
Due to the having limited daily visitor numbers, we are unable to offer tickets as prizes currently.

Do you take in unwanted pets / wildlife?        
We don’t. Our animal health protocols prevent us from taking in animals from other sources.

Do you have any jobs available?          
All vacancies will be advertised here.

Do you hold parties at the Zoo?           
Parties are currently suspended.
