Action Man Adam, will be trekking across Iceland with former World Superbike Champion, Carl Fogarty, and TV personality, Jake Quickenden all in aid of the NSPCC.

Our very own action man, Adam Kenyon, is set to embark on a huge challenge for charity in just a few months’ time.  As Section Head of Large Mammals, Adam’s daily routine brings him into contact with big cats and giraffes, but even that won't prepare him for his trip to Iceland in July.

Adam will join former World Superbike Champion, Carl Fogarty, and TV personality, Jake Quickenden, as well as up to 47 other action men and women on the 5 day trek across ice, glaciers, boiling mud pools and live volcanoes to raise valuable funds for the NSPCC’s Childline initiative.  Each participant must raise £2795, 60% of which goes directly to the charity, the rest being the cost of the trip which takes place from 5th – 9th July.

Adam made the decision to join the trek following a conversation with Foggy, a family friend, who has supported the NSPCC for 15 years. However, this isn’t Adam’s first action man adventure!  He’s taken part in the current series of ITV’s “Ninja Warrior”, but, as yet hasn’t revealed how he got on!

Following the Iceland visit, Adam will, within a week of returning, take part in a 100km Ultra Marathon, the “Race to the Stones”, along Britain’s oldest road from Oxfordshire to the 5,000 year old Avebury Stone Circle on the North Wessex Downs.  He hopes to complete the run in one day!

To support the NSPCC as well as Adam, Foggy and Jake, there is a JustGiving page on which to donate - www.justgiving.com/AdamsNSPCCchallenge
