We are sad to have to inform you that Indra, one of our beloved Asian elephants, has passed away aged 50.
Indra was rescued from the bankrupt Berlin Circus in 1999 and brought to Blackpool, where she lived happily for the past 16 years.
Indra was an extremely popular member of our zoo family and was well loved by all of our visitors.
Staff and keepers are extremely saddened at her passing. Indra will be missed by us all.
