  • Which animals are involved in Keeper for the Day and Keeper Experiences?

    You'll see an example of the animals you may be working with on each experience description. Because nature is unpredictable and the welfare of our animals is paramount, we are unable to guarantee interaction with any specific animals on the day of your experience.

  • Do you have any experiences which involve the big cats or great apes?

    We currently don't offer any experiences involving lions, tigers, orangutans or gorillas. However, we are continually reviewing our programme of experiences so this may change at some point in the future.

  • How many people can be booked in for an experience?

    Please see individual details as the number of participants varies for each expeirence.

  • Do I have to pay entry to the Zoo?

    Meet the Animals, Keeper Experiences and Keeper for the Day all include entry into the zoo. Feed a Giraffe and Sea Lion Meet & Greet do NOT include zoo entry.

  • Can I bring anyone with me when I’m doing my experience?

    We do offer a £15.00 additional guest ticket for anyone joining you on the day of your experience, however they will only be permitted to enter the zoo after 10.00am and must stay within public areas only. Alternatively, they can book as an additional participant on your experience (subject to availability).

  • I’m a member, do I get a discount?

    Yes, our members are entitled to a 10% discount on all Meet the Animals, Encounters, Keeper Experiences and Keeper for the Day. Just use the code MEMBERS10 at checkout. Please note, we will check for a valid membership in your name and if one is not found you will be required to pay the difference or your experience will be cancelled. 

  • Will my experience be cancelled if the weather’s bad?

    Our keepers work 365 days a year, come rain or shine. It's incredibly unlikely we'll cancel your experience, however, in the rare event that extreme circumstances do lead to cancellation, we will reschedule or refund your experience.

  • Are any experiences suitable for under 16s?

    We have plenty of experiences suitable for visitors under the age of 16 - please see individual experience for age restrictions. However, please be aware that all under 16s must be accompanied on their experience by a paying, participating adult.

  • Are any experiences suitable for visitors with disabilities?

  • Will I receive a voucher or confirmation in the post?

    If you book a date for your experience, you'll receive confirmation by email. If you purchase an undated voucher you'll be sent a voucher in the post. We do also offer the option to upgrade to include a souvenir Gift Box with your order.

  • What should I wear?

    You should wear suitable shoes that are comfortable as you will be on your feet for most of the day. Please do not wear open toed shoes. You may get mucky so wear shoes and clothes you are happy to get dirty. Be prepared for the weather and bring weather appropriate clothing.

  • How far in advance can I book?

    All our experiences must be booked a minimum of 7 days in advance. You are able to book up to 6 months in advance (or more in some cases), so please do bear this in mind when booking.
