Since it’s opening last summer, Orangutan Outlook has been giving visitors a unique opportunity to come face to face with our four Bornean Orangutans – If you’re lucky enough to capture the moment you met one of these great apes in a photo, we’d love to see it!

Share your photos on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and include #OrangSelfie, and you’ll be entered into a prize draw to win a family ticket to Blackpool Zoo, an Orangutan adoption package, an Orangutan cuddly toy and the chance to meet and chat to our Orangutan keepers!

How to enter

  • To enter on Instagram – Tag @BlackpoolZoo and #OrangSelfie
  • To enter on Twitter – Tag @BlackpoolZoo and #OrangSelfie
  • To enter on Facebook – Post to our page and #OrangSelfie
  • Alternatively, email your photos to to enter

Competition Rules

  • You may enter as many times as you wish.
  • Photos must have been taken at Blackpool Zoo since the opening of Orangutan Outlook (in August 2014), and must include both the entrant and one of our Orangutans.
  • The closing date for entries is June 12th at midnight.
  • All entries will be collated and a winner selected entirely at random after the closing date.
  • The winner will be announced on our website and social media channels no later than June 19th.
  • By entering the competition you give permission for your name and photo(s) (and those of anyone else featured in the photo) to be used by Blackpool Zoo for promotional purposes.
  • We reserve the right to change the terms and conditions or withdraw the competition at any time.
  • There is no age limit to entering this competition, however please be aware children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult when visiting the zoo.



We’re open!!

Visitor numbers will be limited each day and everyone, including members, will need to book online to guarantee entry. Please ensure your choose the correct date as tickets are non-refundable and dates can not be changed.

Groups of more than 6 visitors will not be permitted to enter the zoo unless all 6 are from the same household.

A face mask or face covering must be worn in all indoor areas of the zoo unless you declare that you have a government listed exemption or are under the age of 11. You may be refused admission if you attempt to visit the zoo without a face covering and don’t declare an exemption.
