Ramblings of a Radio Forester - Exclusive Event!

You are here

We are delighted to be welcoming BBC Radio Lancashire’s Stephen Lowe MICFor MAPM to Blackpool Zoo on Friday 12th November at 3pm, when he will talk about his life and passions – from the great outdoors to broadcasting across the airwaves of our glorious county.

This exclusive event is free to attend, but places are limited, so make sure you don’t miss out.

If you’re a Radio Lancashire listener you will have heard Stephen on his Great Outdoors show, so you’ll know a bit about who he is, what he loves and everything he gets up to.

For those that haven’t had the pleasure, he’s a force of nature who is extremely passionate about what he does.

From a YTS scheme to Honorary Fellow of Myerscough College and much more, he’s worked hard and had some amazing experiences along the way.

He will also be talking about the vast array of outdoor jobs and volunteering opportunities across the county, so if you are looking for a change of pace, a new career or want to spend time volunteering, this is the event for you.

Secure your spot at the event by visiting https://www.facebook.com/blackpoolzoo and tagging the person you would bring with you. The event will be recorded - so you need to be happy to be filmed and maybe even play a starring role!

In addition, Stephen will share how getting to grips with nature can boost health and wellbeing, and explain why we should never lose sight of the magic of the outdoors.

We will choose 50 people to attend and select five questions from all entries to be asked during the event.

The important details

Event title: The Ramblings of a Radio Forester

Date: Friday 12th November

Time: 3.00pm – 5.00pm

Venue: The Lecture Theatre at Blackpool Zoo

The talk will last approximately 30 minutes, followed by a 30 minutes Q&A with the audience and includes a comfort break.

The event will be filmed, so there will be a stop/start element to proceedings (don’t worry - it just adds to the fun!) and everyone in attendance must sign a release form for footage of them to be included in the video.

If your question is selected, you’ll need to agree to being filmed asking the question and your reactions to the answer.

We’ll also have members of our keeping team on hand to help with any specific questions about working at Blackpool Zoo.
