Blackpool Zoo Director, Darren Webster, was delighted to receive the accolade of Leisure Business of the Year at the prestigious BIBA (Be Inspired in Business) Awards at a ceremony at the Tower on Friday, 12th September.

Recognition within the Lancashire business community reinforces the success the Zoo has enjoyed under international owners, Parques Reunidos, and acknowledges the results of their continued investment. The Zoo has increased visitor numbers, revenue and profits year on year and is now considered a leading player within the tourism industry in the County.

Also voted 5th best zoo in the UK and 14th in Europe via reviews on TripAdvisor, it seems that the public are of the same opinion that Blackpool Zoo is a top destination.

Blackpool Zoo is also, currently, Visitor Attraction of the Year for Visit Lancashire and was voted top Visitor Atrtaction by Radio Wave’s listeners as well as carrying off the Kids’ Choice Award.
