The former Amazonia walkthrough enclosure has been reimagined to become a dedicated international aviary, ‘World of Wings’, which is now open to the public. World of Wings Aviary is a fun, educational and interactive journey through a whole host of countries.

It’s home to a collection of beautiful bird and water-fowl species from across the entire globe, such as black curassow, blue throated piping guan, blue throated conure, puna teal, ringed teal, fulvous duck, sharp winged teal, cinnamon teal, orinoco goose, American comb duck, inca tern, little egret and the magnificent scarlet ibis.

If you’re down at the zoo, don’t forget to fly in for a visit!

Blackpool Zoo is Open!

As part of Step 2 of the national roadmap out of lockdown we are allowed to open once again.  

However, we will not be allowed to open most indoor areas: the indoor eating area of the cafe is closed, as are the indoor viewing area of animal houses including elephants, big cats, giraffes, small primates, gorillas and orangutans. These animals all have access to their outdoor enclosures, however they may take themselves inside during inclement weather.  Lemur Wood and Rainbow Landings remain closed.
