Orangutan Outlook

You are here

Ramon and the girls moved into the new house in summer 2014. Come and say “Hello” – you might even get a high five from Ramon!

Orangutan Outlook is home to our family of critically endangered Bornean orangutans. The male, Ramon, lives with females Cherie, Summer and Jingga.

The house has ceiling to floor viewing upstairs and down, offering great opportunities to see these fascinating apes pursuing their favourite occupation - climbing. Themed walls, rustic seating and informative wall panels complete this welcoming enclosure.

Blackpool Zoo is Open!

As part of Step 2 of the national roadmap out of lockdown we are allowed to open once again.

However, we will not be allowed to open most indoor areas: the indoor eating area of the cafe is closed, as are the indoor viewing area of animal houses including elephants, big cats, giraffes, small primates, gorillas and orangutans. These animals all have access to their outdoor enclosures, however they may take themselves inside during inclement weather.  Lemur Wood and Rainbow Landings remain closed.

A full list of restrictions and measures in place can be found here.  Please ensure you read them before you book your tickets as they are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.

We really look forward to welcoming you back to Blackpool Zoo.
