You are here

Join our expert elephant keepers for a truly VIP experience as you spend the morning finding out exactly what it takes to care for these magnificent mammals.

Price: From £240 for one + £120 per additional participant
Duration: 2 hours
Age: You must be at least 12 years old to participate in this experience.

Experience includes

Delve deeper into Project Elephant as you learn about the different elements of the program, from elephant care to conservation and breeding. Your morning will start with a behind the scenes tour of Base Camp before helping keepers with their morning elephant care routine and health checks – which could include foot care, taking their temperature and moisturising their tails among other things. You’ll then be helping keepers with their daily cleaning and habitat management jobs, including setting up and distributing enrichment for the day.

We only accept one booking per slot, so your experience will be exclusive to you… and your friend if you can bring yourself to share! All activities are done through a protective barrier and you will not be in the same enclosed area as the elephant at any time during the experience.

Each experience lasts for about two hours and you will be free to enjoy the zoo for the remainder of the day. You’ll also get a complimentary car park pass, lunch, certificates and a Blackpool Zoo souvenir.
