Wallaby Walkabout

wallwalk

Wallaby Walkabout opened in 2010 and became home to the Zoo's red-necked wallabies and red and grey kangaroos.  These related species cohabit amicably in this undulating, multi-surface enclosure with its gravel path for human visitors.

Visitors are able to get up close and personal to these unusual marsupials, especially at feeding times, and can learn a great deal from the informative signage in the enclosure. Children especially love nothing better than to see the babies, or joeys as they're known, diving into mum's pouch with their feet sticking out behind!

The larger kangaroos love nothing better than chilling in the sunshine!
