FAQ re Birthday Parties

We quite often get asked questions about our birthday party facilities, so thought we'd try to answer them here.

Q. Is there a minimum / maximum number of children allowed to attend the party?

A. We can cater for a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 30 children.

Q. How long does the actual party last?

A. Time spent in the party room is approximately 45 minutes (food and games).

Q. Are we limited to the amount of time we can spend in the zoo?

A. Not at all. You can arrive at 10.00 am when the zoo opens, and leave when we close. Closing times vary throughout the season, so please check the website for times. There are time slots throughout the day to choose from for your food and games.

Q. What are the food options?

A. You may choose from a choice of hot or cold options -

Hot Food

Chicken nuggets, sausages, fish fingers, vegetarian option - all served with chips and beans.

Cold Food

Cheese or ham sandwich with crisps and a piece of fruit.

Drinks and ice cream are included with each option.

Q. Do I need to pay a deposit?

A. No, you pay on arrival at the zoo at the main admission desks.

Q. Do you supply a birthday cake?

A. We don't - however, you are more than welcome to bring your own with candles and leave it in the party room whilst you go round the zoo. The party host will light the candles and invite the children to sing "Happy Birthday".

Q. When do you need to know our food choices?

A. We send you a stamped addressed envelope for you to return your food order sheet. We do ask that you send this back to us at least one week prior to the party.

Q. What does the party host do?

A. The party host is there to help serve the food and to entertain the children with a game or two. The supervision of the children is the parents' responsibility at all times.
