Meet our Nursery Manager
Hello Mums and Dads,
My name’s Pauline Plumpton and I’ve been the Manager of A – Zoo Children’s Nursery since 1st May, 2007, although I was employed here from December, 2005 as Deputy Manager. This was an exciting time for me, not only a new role, but the privilege of being part of a team in opening a children’s nursery inside a zoo.
A – Zoo is a totally “zoo-nique” concept, being the first ever (as far as we know) childcare facility in a zoo anywhere in the world. However, whilst the back garden is full of lions, apes and giraffes etc, our curriculum is broad-based and designed to offer your little monkey the very best start to his or her educational career. We do take the children out for exercise and fresh air in the park and they love their unusual surroundings.
A – Zoo is a happy place. Experienced staff take the best possible care of your most precious possession and we have been rewarded by seeing confident, independent children heading off to “big school” and parents who are sad that their time here is at an end.
Great care is taken to involve parents at every stage of their child’s development and my door is always open should any concerns arise. My staff support and nurture the children through the initial stages of learning social skills and interacting with other children, and regular contact with parents ensures that this process is consistent throughout the child’s life.
From babies to school age, every child is special to you and to us, and we are very aware of the privilege we share in being part of your child’s early years.
