Our good friends at the British Tortoise Society have arranged two dates on which you can bring your pet tortoise (s) along to the Zoo for weighing and advice on care and welfare.  Health checks are very important both before and after hibernation, so here’s your chance to consult the experts.  The dates are :

29th April from 12.30 until 3.30 pm in the Zoo’s main entrance, also

7th October from 12.30 until 3.30 pm.

All tortoise owners are very welcome! There’s no charge.

If you’re visiting Blackpool Zoo over the Easter break you’re guaranteed loads of fun!  Here are a few of the activities we’ve planned for you from 31st March until 15th April.

Easter Egg Trail – seek out the Easter eggs in the animals’ enclosures and follow the prize trail.

11 am – 4 pm daily – come and meet all your favourites in our Children’s Farm!  Meet the rabbits and guinea pigs, hold a chick, walk a ferret or llama or even brush the donkeys.  We also have two lovely miniature Shetland ponies visiting for the holidays.

Colouring competition and badge-making to raise funds for the South East Asia campaign to help endangered species in that region of the world, including tigers and orang-utans.

Tickets for giraffe and lorikeet feeds can also be purchased from the Amazonia shop.  (Please note age limits apply : giraffe feeds – minimum age 5 years, lorikeets 7 years)

There will also be a great programme of Talks and Feeds including our amazing Sealion Display.
