Animal News No Comments

New for 2012 here at the Zoo will be a pair of giant anteaters.  These rather bizarre-looking creatures will reside in a newly refurbished enclosure near the Education Centre.

A potential breeding pair will arrive in the not-too-distant future from Madrid and Sweden.

February Half Term – Woo at the Zoo!

Events No Comments

Is anyone thinking of proposing on St Valentine’s Day? Or, ladies, on Leap Year Day, 29th February? If you are and you really want to do something different, we’re offering just 5 chances on each day to do just that!

You can go down on bended knee in the Active Oceans Arena with just the sealions (and about 300 visitors!) looking on, or, if you’re a bit shy, in Lemur Wood where it’s a bit more secluded.

Just email Jude at judith.rothwell@blackpoolzoo.org.uk with your reasons for proposing here at the Zoo, along with your contact details and we’ll try to make your dreams come true!

They’ll learn about Santa’s reindeer, make gifts for the gorillas and orangutans, eat a hearty cooked breakfast and (if they’re really good) get a present from the man himself!

Sounds good?  Then ring Jude on 01253 830812 from Monday, 14th November to book tickets.  £10 per child for Zoo members or £12 for non-members including admission to the Zoo.  (Non-members will receive 20% discount on Zoo admission if you want to make a day of it)
